Located in the Croydon area, at Norbury Pharmacy, we run a weight management clinic designed to help patients achieve their health goals in the most effective way possible. Currently, we offer multiple treatments which our Pharmacist will discuss with you to see which one best fits your needs. You can read about them in more depth below. Furthermore, we offer specialised nutrition advice, and we can guide you to making different choices that are conducive to your lifestyle. The information detailed below is for educational and informative purposes to explain how the medications work and how our clinic can support you.

Mounjaro (tirzepatide)

Mounjaro (tirzepatide) is a prescription only medication. It is a self-injectable pen.

It works by mimicking gut hormones (GLP & GIP) therefore reducing appetite, making you feeling fuller for longer and slowing digestion. The starting dose is 2.5mg and it is gradually increased by the advice of your pharmacist.

We offer specialised nutrition advice and have partnered with a nutrition company to give you nutrient dense, palatable options without sacrificing progress.

Wegovy (semaglutide)

Wegovy (semaglutide) is a prescription medication which when used with a clean diet and exercise, can yield some fantastic results. It is also a self-injectable pen.

It mimics GLP-1 which results in an increased feeling of fullness, reduced hunger and a more regulated appetite. The starting dose is 0.25mg which will be re-assessed by your Pharmacist every 4 weeks.

Clinically, whilst semaglutide is not as effective as tirzepatide in reducing weight, if you combine it with a clean diet and frequent exercise, Wegovy has proven to be incredibly effective in weight reduction.

Saxenda (liraglutide)

This is a prescription medication and works by mimicking the natural body hormone called GLP-1. As with other weight loss medications, this works by regulating hunger and making you feel fuller for longer.

It will reduce cravings, slow digestion with the effect of reducing overall calorie intake contributing to weight loss.

It is a daily, self-administered injection in the stomach or the thigh. It is important to understand that maintaining an adequate level of physical activity as well as a balanced diet is key to producing lasting results.
